I heard it read on the radio:

A Law Student Letter to Liberals
Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a model separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens.

We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood.

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N.. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.

We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWAR which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

Sincerely, John J. Wall
Law Student and an American

The funny part is that when I was trying to find the origin of it, I came across a bunch of forums discussing it. And as you can imagine, the liberals on the forums were very critical of how it was written and especially its content. Of course. Because the true definition of irony is that the liberals need the very thing they hate, to sustain themselves. I think it was Margaret Thatcher who said, "The problem with socialism, is that you eventually run out of other people's money."

Stay Out of This!!

There is no doubt in my mind that "The Exalted One" believes he is doing the right things. But mental institutions are full of people that think they are normal. WHY does Obama want to stick the governments nose in things.

We can tell by history that it usually doesn't help to get the government involved in business. Take the banks for example: What happened to the housing market? This was a brainchild of liberals up in DC. They put their nose in and told banks who to give loans to, and what happened. The housing market didn't get any better.

That was such a short time ago, the wound hasn't scabbed over yet, let alone healed or scarred. And "The Exalted One" wants to do it again. We don't need the governments "help".

He wants to increase the fuel economy in vehicles produced in the US. If he thinks that Americans want more fuel efficient cars, he is absolutely right (maybe the only time in his political career). How do I know this? I drive. I like to save money. I know many people who drive and also like to save money.

So why is it so bad that the government prods where it doesn't belong? We can all agree that the economy is not in the best condition. One of the industries I particularly hear about is the automotive industry. To increase their stress will not do them any good. Which will translate into higher prices for the consumer and hence more layoffs by the manufacturers and a worse economy.

So who will take care of the poor consumer? Don't worry, we can hold our own. We have already spoken. The auto manufacturers are just a little slow on the uptake. The reason, other than Unions, these manufacturers are doing poorly is because people don't want to buy their gas guzzling vehicles, when they can go foreign and get style and fuel economy.(Sure there are exceptions such as myself. I like the big trucks) Eventually the Big Three would catch on though. We can take care of ourselves.

People don't want to hear it, but the country needs to look at Wal Mart's example. How do they bring in the profits they do? They don't offer so many benefits. They pay their employees as little as possible. They keep their prices low and depend on volume. If the government would stay out of business' business, hand out less, stop overpaying politicians, and lower taxes this country would be so much better off. Just stay out of the rest of it.

The Irony of Bush

Do you know the real definition of irony? Don't worry, most people don't. I have only heard it used correctly two or three times in my lifetime. Most people use it as a synonym for coincidence (which really bothers me for some reason). Irony is incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs; or the opposite of an expected outcome. For example: not flying because you don't want to die in a plane crash, then a plane crashes into your house and kills you.

I always knew how much liberals hated Bush. Even now that he is out of office (though it has only been a couple weeks), they go into fits when discussing him. But why?

What are the reasons that people give for hating him? He lied about WMD's in Iraq? He is spending billions on the war? He is killing the economy? He gives his rich friends tax breaks? What else could there be?

Well, lets check this out. No one can prove he lied about WMD's. Just like no one can prove Hilary lied about her shady law firm. No one can prove Ted lied about driving that woman into the river. The libs love people that lie. But maybe it was because Bush didn't lie. How many UN resolutions did Hussein disregard? So the UN basically said we want to see your weapons. Much like a police department telling a known drug dealer they want to see his drug operation. After so many times of them telling him they are coming, do you think they will find any drugs in his house when they get there?

So what about the Billions on the war? Do libs not like spending money to keep people safe? Well, we could not have spent the money without their approval. Maybe they don't like spending tax dollars to kill. Oh wait, they want to spend our tax dollars to kill, but only to fund the slaughter of innocent children?

Oh, the economy, what did he ever do to the economy? When the government gets involved in the economy, it screws it up. Taxing companies 'til they hurt, makes them move over seas. Putting to so many restrictions on companies drives up prices. Requiring banks to make loans to people that can't afford them makes for a really bad housing market. He did give out money that belonged to us in the first place though. Wait, all those are liberal philosophies.

What was Bush thinking not taxing the rich? The rich should not get away without paying excessive taxes, Should they? Oh that's right libs only like people who just don't pay their taxes at all. That could be why "The Exalted One" chose so many tax cheats for his cabinet.

It seems quite apparent to me that the reasons people give for not liking or even hating Bush are that he acts like or failed to stand up against the philosophies of liberals themselves. Now there is real irony.

Look out Obama, your worshipers may be growing brains.

Drink What Kool-aid?

The other day, I was accused, by a liberal of being a Kool-aid drinker. It wasn't actually directed at me, it was directed at all Rush Limbaugh listeners that agree with him.

Those of you that listen to conservative talk radio realize that they have been calling liberals that for years. This because they seem to follow the mainstream media as though they are infallible and believe whatever they say is inspired by GOD himself. I thought it was very funny. It reminded me of the time my wife and I went to her parents house for dinner after she got her hair cut very short for the first time and my young nephew came out of the bathroom totally naked and pointed and said very animatedly, You look ridiculous. We all had to laugh.

So now that "The Exalted One" has been sent down from about to be worshiped and followed by all, the left think we are stupid not to follow "Him". If we keep following Rush Limbaugh (they actually mean our conservative values) then we can't contribute to change. Wow! Really!?

Okay this is perfect opportunity for a rant. First off: You are absolutely right, anyone that is truly American and believes in the American dream and LIBERTY itself, does not want to contribute to this change. Second: If people would take the time and put forth the effort to learn for themselves, instead of just bowing down to "The Exalted One" and the liberal media and believing their every deceitful word, they would recognize that Marx, Hitler, Stalin, Castro, Kim Jong Il and so on...all wanted most of the same changes. Third: Come up with something original. You can't use our line.

Next time you can pull your infantile selves away from the teat of the liberal media, please do some research and analyze your beloved "Exalted One's" ideals before you poke your head over the wall of your little compound and point at the rest of us and tell us not to drink the Kool-aid.

You Fool!?

There is something to be said for a man like President Obama. He has done it. He set out to become the president, and he did it.

Who cares what skin color he is. Most Americans don't even recognize race anyway. We were bound to have a black president sometime. As we will probably have a Hispanic and whichever other races you want to throw out there. That isn't the impressive part.

He was bound to beat out Hilary. That isn't so impressive.

He is one of the most "liberal" politicians in America. Now that is impressive. Because, by nature "liberals" just assume that YOU, the American individual, are stupid. They just assume you can't run your own life. What better way to control the masses than to tell us how much you want to help us out, and so you will give us this and that through all these Government programs. Oh and the rich who don't need help from the government? It is a beautiful plan. Tax the life out of them. This will lower them to where they need to depend on the government and as an added bonus their money will help offset the cost of all this. Until of course with the outrageous bill of this the government goes broke and we are lowered to our knees like the once world super power USSR.

One of the big things was the economy. A whole lot of people thought he would make the economy better. Indeed it will get better. I have no doubt. It will get worse also. It always has. It goes up and down. Really, we could have elected a party symbol, a jackass or an elephant, and the economy would have improved. It is inevitable. But he told us what he wanted to do. He wanted to take what belongs to you and fix your problems that are created mostly by the government. It was like he like he said, give me a $100 dollar bill and I will put it in my fist and thrust my fist into my very own pocket and when I pull my fist out and open it, The money will have vanished forever. And the American people were amazed and lined up to follow him like lemmings.

Everyone knew he was a "liberal" and he still won. He called us a bunch of fools to our faces and we elected him. Does that prove he's right? Am I supposed to agree now?

debates

I have been in somewhat of a debate on another blog. I'm not a very eloquent writer, and by far not an eloquent speaker. So I have been very choppy at making my points. Tell me what your views are.
I went to another blog in which a person was seemingly upset that so many people were saying McCain was not a conservative. So, then, They went on about how people seem to have forgotten what conservative and republican mean.
My first thoughts were I can tell you why people are upset with McCain. Then, I went off on how I may not be correct on my definitions, but this is why I won't vote for him.
This other person then pointed out that I managed to go off on a tangent and not hit the subject discussed in the article. (also thinking that I belittled a prominent democrat that won a Nobel Peace Prize, just because I said that maybe If McCain helped cut down our greenhouse gases while reducing our dependence on foreign oil by imposing more restrictive and constricting government regulations on our free market he could win one too. I think He could. How is that belittling?) They also said that we need to move away from opposing political views and have more honest political discussion.
Now is when I realize I have to make my point more clearly. So this is the essence of what I said:
By definition a liberal is someone who believes in change and advancement. Politically that would be by incorporating social programs and controls on industry and redistribution of wealth and things of that nature. A conservative is against change or wants very slow change. In other words they want to stick to the original forms like upholding the constitution and they are viewed more as fuddy duddies. These terms are so relative it is impossible to put anyone in either category and be 100% accurate. For example, our founding fathers were ultra liberal for there day. But today if you hold to the exact same things they did you would be very conservative.
So, now lets look at some others. There were a few other liberals not too long ago. One of them enacted some social programs and totally rebuilt Germany in such a good way that he was named Time magazines Man Of The Year.(I guess an award doesn't really mean you are a good guy). There were also a few guys that believed in social programs and whatnot and they incorporated them in Russia. (then people were trying to flee the country) But all those were Liberals, by actual definition.
How about conservatives? You may have heard of this conservative group in Afghanistan that were so conservative that they wanted to hold so tightly to their views that they imposed very harsh restrictions and punishment on their people even down to the clothes the wear. Yeah, they are conservative.
So which do I oppose, conservative or liberal? Like I mentioned before, they are relative terms. It all depends on the setting.
As for the everyone just getting along and agreeing, that is unhealthy. The apposing views help advance the country while keeping one another in check.

So what are your views? Let me know what you think.

Am I Lazy?

A lot of things lately have been causing me to think that our country is getting lazy. Take the news for example. People sit back and believe anything the mainstream media tells them.
They don't want to take the time to research and find out for themselves. Hence, we have ideas like Global warming being perpetuated by the media and movies. And then when people come back from Iraq and say it's not as bad as the media is portraying the media tell the audience that they're lying or twisting the truth.

But it doesn't stop there. What about Health care and other social services. People everywhere seem to be drawn to the politicians that want to give it away for free as long as they can be in control of it. People see this and say, wow, you give me it free and you manage it for me. This has hints of laziness all through it, including the fact that people are to lazy to look around the world at the countries that have universal healthcare and see how horrible there overall healthcare systems are. Oh, and they are too lazy to do the research to find out what types of governments want to control peoples lives.

More liberal type people in our government seem to want people to be lazy. That way they will be more dependent on the government. They want to give money that they took from the wealthier people that worked hard for it(maybe as a punishment for working hard?) to all these lower income people. So what happened to the single lady I know that was going to school and working a job and just wanted a little assistance with daycare so she could continue to get her degree so she could get a better job so she could stop asking for the government's help? Oh, they told her she would have to quit her job and drop out of school. They told her she needed to be lazy and stop trying to make something of herself if she wanted help.

Now its not all a bad thing. There are a lot of things that we all appreciate that allow us too be lazy(running water, Cars, internet, elevators...). I just think the lazier we are the easier it is to be lazier.

Changes

Upon further consideration, maybe my friend may be right. Though we would be throwing in with the liberals if we vote third party, If McCain gets the nomination, we will have a liberal in the whitehouse for at least four years. If he gets elected, we will likely have a liberal in the whitehouse for no less than eight. (Simply because, Even though he is a liberal, he uses the republican name to achieve his agenda. That will have made 12 years of "republicans" in the whitehouse.) So what happens if Obama gets elected. He wrecks the country for 4 years and Conservatives have a good chance of winning it back. (I believe since he is more likable, he will be more efficient at wrecking.) And what about the Clinton's? Well common Hilary is a woman and has to show the world she is tough enough to be president. Besides That would put the Clinton's in the whitehouse for a total of 12 years. It is doubtful the country will go for 16. So my friend may be right.

What to do? What to do?

A couple of my friends have expressed dismay over Fred Thompson dropping out. I like his views the best, but he didn't have the drive. Anyhow, my friends don't like the other candidates. So they are trying to decide if they want to stand up for their beliefs and vote third party, or if they should just vote for the best of the evils. Well they were advised not to throw their votes away. One of them thought well sometimes it's worth it to do the right thing.

To me it is a no-brainer. You don't even have to look at it as throwing your vote away even. If you don't stick with the team that has the best chance of beating the people you definitely don't want elected, then, weather you call it throwing your vote away or not, you are not using your vote in the most effective way you can. As a matter of fact your vote will have had no positive impact at all.

So if you believe that everything other than the truth is a lie, and everything that is not right is wrong, then you must admit that when you are not having a positive impact you are having a negative one. Because the world is moving (like a river) there is no "not having an impact" (if you are treading water you are drifting one way or the other).

So if you want to feel better about yourself, When people ask you who you are going to vote for, tell them you are just throwing your vote away. But if you want to do the right thing ( since that's what this is all about), tell them you are throwing in with the enemy to prove a point.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://earlstake.blogspot.com/2008/01/what-to-do-what-to-do.html' title='What to do? Not in America

I know that I may be called racist by some, and that doesn't bother me. Most of the people that would call me that are a little prejudiced themselves. I don't mean to point a finger back, just follow me for a minute. Look at music, we know that it is very cultural. Stereotypically, people of certain races listen to their culture's music. This is not always accurate, but most of the time it is. Most of the people I know that like RAP hate country, one girl I knew liked pop but hated classic rock, and most of the people I know that like classical can't stand anything else. I have certain people in mind for all these examples that I just mentioned and they all fit into their stereotypical cultural profile.(I know that that is not always the case.) but you can't tell me that everyone isn't in someway prejudiced on some issue that involves race, whether it is relevant to the subject or not. I know that I'm not racist, though I would have to say that I am a little prejudiced against a certain portion of the population that I just call stupid people. That is what I am currently going to address.
Sometimes people just upset me to the point I can't stand it anymore. You must know the type that that comedian talks about(the ones that should have to wear a sign). I don't know how people can miss things that are so obvious that the normal human can see it, but they can't even see it when it is pointed out to them. The example I have is simple and it has to do with racism. (Not coincidental, since that is what has sparked my current monologue.) How can someone who is trying to stimulate tolerance and equality wear a "Black Power" or "Native Pride" shirt? I can see that on the outside it looks like a "go team" sort of slogan, but on the inside it reeks of racism. If you don't think so, try putting on a "White power","white pride", or even just an "I'm fairly content to be white" shirt. It makes me feel dirty just thinking about it. I could never do that. You would be all but hung, or maybe that too.(you racist) Since we're on it, here's a trick question for EVERYONE. Which of these organizations is not racist?: "White's plumbing and heating" or "The United Negro College fund". It's a hard one, so here is a hint: Mr. White is black. Last question: which of them will pay for his white wife's nursing school? hmmm?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://earlstake.blogspot.com/2007/08/racism-not-in-america.html' title='RACISM? They were able to do so because of three major factors. There were men who had a desire to be free from certain bonds, they had the courage to stand up for their beliefs and they communicated that to others and stirred up support through writing. Today, because of those men's courage and fore site, one of our greatest freedoms and most useful freedoms is the freedom of speech or expression. Benjamin Franklin once said the pen is mightier that the sword. The Bible says the tongue is like a sword. Throughout history people have realized the power of words. That is why the dark ages existed, because the words of men were stifled by power hungry men. A few words can bring about more change than years of work. They have the power to build up or tear down. Here, in the greatest country in the world, we the people hold that power. So we should use it. Here I make my stand. I take up my pen and defend my power.
